Established in 1970 by Natalino and Anna Bartolomei, Ciu Ciu is now in the hands of their two sons Massimiliano and Walter. They have a large, organic estate, extending through 130 hectares of vineyards in Offida, nestled between the Apennine mountains and the Adriatic sea in central Italy. Their passion for organic viticulture stems from their philosophy that quality wine is made in the vineyard and not in the cellar. They want the land, and the fruit it provides, to speak for itself, and so they harness “a natural wine-growing ecosystem”.

Oris, from the DOC Falerio, is a blend of Trebbiano, Passerina and Pecorino (not to be confused with the cheese) from vineyards 300 metres above sea level. It undergoes a spontaneous fermentation in stainless steel to retain the freshness – combining with a luscious fruit profile of pear, peach, honeysuckle and a little spice on the finish to provide a round and well-balanced wine
